Please join us on Wednesday, November 20 at 7:30 pm, at Denny's in Culver City, for a presentation by Bill Van Antwerp:

Certainly, more than you ever wanted to know about batteries:

The 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded for the invention of the lithium ion battery (finally they gave it for something useful).  Lithium ion batteries and their nickel metal hydride are the workhorses of the underwater imaging business.

We will discuss the chemistry of these batteries, how they are made (just a bit) and which ones are used for what applications.  We will also talk about charging them, what kinds of chargers to use and how to store them safely.

Unfortunately, lithium batteries have some sever safety issues and we will discuss how to make sure your next trip is safe and you have power to take all the photos you need.

REMEMBER - NEW LOCATION SINCE AUGUST 2019!

Denny's
10700 Jefferson Blvd.
Culver City, CA 90230

We will start gathering in the banquet room around 6pm for dinner - management has recommended that we place our orders with staff in the main area before heading into the banquet room, as that will speed up food delivery.
